Who we are

Molly Conley Design is a Jersey City based branding design consultancy founded by Design Director Molly Conley. Molly has over ten years of experience as a graphic designer specializing in branding and communications that serves the causes of socially conscious companies and organizations. At the core of her practice is the belief that design is a powerful tool for creating positive influence and social change. 

Molly earned her BFA in graphic design from Iowa State University in 2005, and in 2010, studied with design legend and social activist, Milton Glaser, at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Molly worked for seven years as senior designer at BBMG, a brand innovation company in Brooklyn, NY, and started her independent design consultancy, Molly Conley Design, in 2012, the same year that Molly picked up a passion for keeping bees.

While Molly was born and raised in Iowa, it was in New York City when she had her first exposure to beekeeping in 2012. Soon after taking her first beekeeping class, Molly took a year off to travel the globe, and during this time, discovered a synergistic inspiration that resulted from the interplay of design and beekeeping. While working on an organic honey farm in Finland, Molly met the owners of Voi Hyvin Honey, whose passionate, entrepreneurial spirit inspired her to launch her own design consultancy. The experience also taught Molly the importance of maintaining strong, personal relationships with her clients to ensure a deep understanding and mutual devotion for the goals to be achieved, a belief that remains at the core of MCD's values.

Outside of the design studio, Molly is a passionate advocate for honey bees and urban beekeeping. She serves as an active volunteer of the New York City Beekeepers Association and the nonprofit organization Bees Without Borders, whose mission it is to help alleviate poverty through beekeeping.
